Bacchus Marsh were ruthless in seeking revenge on Carisbrook on Sunday, holding the Lady Redbacks scoreless at Northern Oval in a 58-point loss.

The game was moved late on from Maddingley Park, with the Cobras faring better from quarter time onwards.

The first quarter was a genuine battle, with the Cobras managing just the one goal to lead by six points at quarter time.

However, it was the second quarter where Bacchus Marsh were able to take control of the game, scoring three goals from seven scoring shots to lead by 28 points at the main break.

Carisbrook were continuing to do what they could against a Cobras outfit that were able to field one of their better teams for the season, and defended well during the third quarter to concede two goals, trailing by 42 points at the final change.

The Cobras continued to pepper the goals in the last term, but could only manage two goals from six scoring shots as they won 8.10 (58) to no score.

Despite the loss, Tara Curtis, Sarah Lynch, Tiani Jardine, Shelley Feilding, Caitlin Butler and Grace Brady were all named in the best players on the balance of the afternoon, ending a three-game away run.

The under 16s, likewise, were unable to get the better of Bacchus Marsh at the Darley Hub, but had a competitive final term.

The Cobras were able to get the jump in the opening term, scoring three goals to nil to hold a 19-point advantage at the first break, before leading by 21 points at half time.

Carisbrook hit the scoreboard for the first time in the afternoon in the third term, but couldn’t prevent Bacchus Marsh from kicking a further three goals as they trailed by 37 points at the final change.

But Carisbrook were able to win the final quarter, kicking two goals to reduce the margin to 35 points, 3.5 (23) to 8.10 (58).

Emme Johnson, Chloe Wyatt, Tamika Loone-Grundy, Olivia Rogers, Eden Weaver and Remi Jardine were all named in the best, with Loone-Grundy, Weaver and Laylah Smith the goalkickers.

Carisbrook will now host a double header this Sunday, with the under 16s hosting the Ballarat Swans and the seniors hosting East Point.
