Harcourt had a comfortable 85-point victory over Talbot at Harcourt on Saturday.
Harcourt coach Alex Code led the way for the Lions with a best on ground performance as the home team won every quarter of the game.
The Hawks trailed by 32 points at three-quarter-time, but a dominant final quarter saw the Lions put away the Hawks, scoring eight goals without reply to blow the margin out and give the Lions some much needed percentage.
Barry Hall took the field for the second time of the season for Harcourt, and while not appearing among the better players he did slot a couple of goals to excite the local crowd.
Jed Rodda was the main goal scorer with five goals and Sam Gale kicked three as the Lions victory kept them in the top four on the ladder, a game behind leading trio Trentham, Carisbrook and Natte Bealiba.
The better players were Code, Jordan Gartside, Chris McLean, Brayden Frost and Darby Semmens.
Talbot’s best were Adam Scott, Nathan Bond, Daniel Beaumont, Sam Hitchings, and Brendon Hedger.
