Bealiba working bee call
To help with the maintenance of the Bealiba Reservoir, the committee responsible for its upkeep is organising a working bee this weekend — and locals are encouraged to lend a hand.
According to the Bealiba Reservoir Committee, the spot is often frequented by people for fishing, swimming, bushwalking, and camping.
It is a very popular place during school holidays, Easter and Christmas.
“To take care of this fantastic asset, the Bealiba Reservoir Committee was formed and is run by a small group of locals who manage and care for the reservoir and camping area as well as other Bealiba town issues,” a spokesperson from the committee said.
Talks have also taken place with the Central Goldfields Shire Council regarding some of the maintenance aspects of the site, as well as the installation of new signage that are required on surrounding roadways.
The reservoir working bee will kick off this Sunday, on September 15 from 9.30 am.
There will be some tree planting along with a general clean up and other maintenance.
If you are interested in helping out or becoming a part of the group contact committee president Jenny Lovel on 0409 936 340.
The Reservoir Committee meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 7.30 pm. Further details can be found at www.bealiba.com.au
