Royal Park travelled out to Natte Yallock Recreation Reserve to play the Swans on the rebound — which was a very big ask for the Tigers.
The result reflected the task at hand, with the Swans proving too strong for the day, winning by 127 points.
The highlight of the day was Danny Brewster kicking 10 goals for the game and in doing so he slotted his 100th goal for the season early in the final term, much to the delight of the home crowd. He now sits on 101 goals with the final round to play next week against Campbells Creek.
It looks set to be an exciting finish for the leading goalkicker award, with Brewster’s 10-goal haul matched by Trentham’s Jake Keogh, leaving the difference between the two spearheads just two goals.
The game at Natte Yallock was basically one-way traffic with the Swans averaging five goals a quarter while keeping the Tigers to just three goals for the game.
Thirteen goals from the Swans in the second half saw them build from a 50-point half time lead to their eventual 127-point winning margin.
Jordi Cossar was named as the Swans’ best player, along with Brewster, Jayden and Brady Templeton, Darcy Thompson, and Daniel Vadala.
Besides Brewster and his 10 goal haul, Trent Mortlock also kicked five goals and Will Holt and Jayden Templeton finished with three apiece.
Royal Park named Rhys Egan as their best player, along with Matt Walker, Luke Dunne, Brad Reeves, and Zayne Earl.
