CAMPBELLS CREEK (33) def by CARISBROOK (81)

Carisbrook showed that they will be one of the teams to beat in 2023 by putting together a good four-quarter performance to beat impressive round one winners Campbells Creek.

The Redbacks were very strong throughout the afternoon, and with multiple goal-scoring options going forward, will back themselves in to put up high scores every week, with their 81 goals the highest in the young season so far.

A 24-8 opening quarter set the way for the Redbacks, and they were able to increase their lead by the main break when they were able to score another 25 goals, while holding Creek to nine.

The third quarter saw Brook play their most frugal netball, holding Campbells Creek to just six goals throughout the quarter, while adding 17 goals of their own to lead by 43 goals at the last break.

Creek finished the game out well, and their last quarter was their most competitive, but it was Carisbrook’s day as they scored another 15 goals to 10 to eventually finish 48-goal winners.

Paige McLean and Andrea Schafer shared the load throughout the day, with McLean scoring 42 goals and Schafer scoring 33.

For Creek, they were also able to spread the goalscoring load, with Jordan Bagley scoring 15 goals, while Lillie Wrigley added 10 and Elouise Jones eight.
