Talbot’s London House Cafe has marked its final day of trading 12 months after it opened in Scandinavian Crescent’s historic London House building.
Community organisation Talbot Action Inc holds the head lease for the building, which itself is owned by the Central Goldfields Shire Council, and announced councillor and local resident Gerard Murphy as the new tenant with plans to utilise the space for a cafe following an expression of interest process mid-last year.
The cafe officially opened in August and Mr Murphy told The Advertiser at the time that it received a “fantastic” reception by locals.
However, the cafe has now closed with its last business day running earlier this month.
The business, which was open from 9 am to 4 pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, as well as offering dinner options some Friday and Saturday nights, is currently for sale.
The London House Cafe previously housed the Talbot Provedore and Eatery, opened by Jayne Newgreen and Christopher Howe in 2016.
Mr Murphy and Talbot Action Inc declined to comment on the businesses closure or its sale.
