Carisbrook will have their best opportunity to put their front foot forward and record their first win of the season against an improving Bacchus Marsh outfit.

Both teams look to have made early improvements at this stage of the season, but while Carisbrook are still taking steps, Bacchus Marsh have been able to record two victories in succession, which has allowed them to jump up to third on the ladder.

However, Carisbrook were able to get the points in their last meeting, taking a memorable 14-point victory, and will be hoping to repeat the dose again on Sunday.

While the last two weeks have been tough for Carisbrook, having to play against league powerhouses Darley and Redan, there have also been positives to take out of both games.

Against the Devils, Carisbrook were able to carry out two quarters of good defence, conceding three goals in the second and last quarters, while against Redan, it was the first and second quarters where they performed well.

Performing for all four quarters will be the clear goal this week as they look for a breakthrough.

The Cobras have played some good football over the last two weeks in recording victories over East Point and Lake Wendouree, and a third victory in a row will keep them in good stead.

Julianne Baldock was a standout for the Lady Redbacks, while Grace Brady continued her good start to the season. Danae Every, Maddison Smith, Anika Munn and Tara Curtis also played well, and they’ll be called upon again, undoubtedly, on Sunday.

Meantime, Carisbrook’s under 16 team will have a tough task against the third-placed Storm on Sunday morning as they hope to record their first victory of the season.

Last week, the Lady Redbacks performed admirably in the first half against Ballarat Swans, who sit second, conceding three goals in the first half to sit 22 points behind at the main break.

But four goals in each of the last two quarters allowed the Swans to eventually record a 69-point victory, while the Lady Redbacks did manage a goal in the third quarter thanks to Ava Bartlett.

Bartlett maintained the rage and played well all day, while Emme Johnson, Amber Hogarth, Tamika Loone-Grundy, Erika Arce and Olivia Rogers also played well.
