Carisbrook are back on track, with their 30-goal win over Trentham helping the Redbacks stay in the top four at Carisbrook Recreation Reserve.
The Redbacks wore down the Saints throughout the balance of the day.
A tight start saw Carisbrook lead 12 goals to nine at the end of the opening stanza. Abbey Nalder scored eight goals for the Redbacks, while Courtney Lovett added four, while for Trentham, Zahlia Turton scored five goals and Jacqui Bell four.
But it was the second term which saw Carisbrook skip away, scoring 15 goals while holding Trentham to just four to lead 27-13 at the main break. Lovett scored nine goals and Nalder six for Carisbrook, while Bell and Turton scored twice apiece for Trentham.
The third quarter saw defence win the day, with chances hard to come by. In the end, it was Carisbrook which increased their lead again, scoring eight goals to six to lead 35-19 at the final change. Nalder scored six goals and Lovett two for the Redbacks, while for Trentham, Turton and Stacey Parks scored three goals apiece.
It was a domination from the Redbacks in the final term which allowed them to put the foot down, scoring 18 goals to four to turn a good win into quite a comfortable one.
Nalder scored 10 goals to finish with 30 for the afternoon, while Lovett scored eight to finish with 23 for the Redbacks. For Trentham, Turton scored three times to finish with 13, while Bell scored once.
Both teams now have the bye in round 12.
