Community groups, as well as football and netball clubs, are being urged to consider earning a share in funding for the 2023 TAC Road Safety Grants and Club Rewards Program.

Launched last week, the program offers the opportunity for community groups to identify road safety issues in their area, while establishing projects to help fix underlying issues.

The TAC Club Rewards Program gives football and netball clubs the chance to share in fund, with all AFL Victoria aligned clubs able to earn up to $10,000 by promoting road safety to the community, with funding able to go towards facility upgrades or equipment.

Member for Ripon Martha Haylett said it was important for clubs to collaborate in the name of road safety.

“Locals know their roads best, they know the issues and opportunities – that’s why it’s important to allow community groups to take action and implement solutions,” she said.

“Whether you’re doing the school drop off, coming home from the footy or on your daily commute to work – road safety is everyone’s responsibility.

“These programs will work with community groups and football netball clubs across our region to support them in creating a safer environment for all road users.”

Clubs are urged to register and complete applications for grants before Friday, August 11, with the TAC and AFL Victoria Road Safety Round to be held on July 16 in both the Bendigo Football Netball League and Maryborough Castlemaine District Football Netball League.
