Laanecoorie Dunolly and Clunes will contest the A grade two-day grand final after taking victories in their semi-final clashes.
Laane’s victory was achieved midway through Saturday after-noon’s play as they made comfortable work of Beaufort, claiming first innings points after just 49 overs were bowled on Saturday, with a result declared shortly after tea.
Meantime, Clunes had to work a little harder for their victory against Colts Phelans, surviving a scare which saw Colts sitting nicely on 3/92 chasing 198, before an inspired Ash Gunn spell saw Colts bowled out for 127.
The results kick-starts a big week for the Maryborough District Cricket Association as they prepare for their showpiece event, with the Ken Gibbs Medal to be held at Carisbrook Recreation Reserve on Wednesday night.
Both A grade and A reserve grand finals will be held on Saturday, with Clunes well represented, also making an appearance in the A reserve decider, where they will play against Talbot.
Weekend match recaps can be found on Pages 18 and 19 of today's edition of The Maryborough District Advertiser.
