A section of the Goldfields Reservoir’s walking track will be closed until Friday as investigation works along the dam bank are undertaken.
During the 2023-2024 financial year council will carry out works to stabilise the dam bank to ensure the facility can continue to be enjoyed by residents for years to come.
As part of the project, in-vestigative works need to be carried out along the dam bank by a geotechnical engineer.
To enable these works to occur, a section of the walking track along the west side (Derby Road side) was closed yesterday and will reopen Friday, June 23.
The results of these explanatory works will be used by engineers to determine the scope of the project which will be carried out during the 2023-2024 financial year and is made possible through $930,000 from the Victorian Government.
