A slow start was very costly for Maryborough Rovers on Saturday when they went down to Dunolly at Deledio Oval by just 13 points.
The Eagles were on fire early and kicked out to a 29-point lead at quarter time, and it looked like it was going to be a very big victory to the Eagles.
However, it was Rovers who mounted a comeback, but found it too much of a deficit to haul in.
The final quarter Rovers were coming home hard, kicking three goals and five behinds, while keeping the Eagles to just one behind, but the first quarter lapse proved to be too difficult to overcome.
The victory for the home team has kept their spot in the top eight as they have a rest next week in readiness for the undefeated Lions in round 11.
The Eagles better players were Lachlan Tranter, Tyler Kinnane, Bailey Goodwin, Hamish Richards, Seth Galvin and Nathan Murphy, with Jake Willcox kicking four goals.
Rovers named their best players as Marshall Murray, David Le Poidevin, Kieran Johns, Alex Mahony, Tyler Lewis and Dylan Evans with two goals apiece to Murray, Jacob Plier and Chris Scragg.
