Police are urging people to adhere to the road rules following a crash in Maryborough yesterday caused by a driver’s failure to stop at an intersection.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Gladstone Street and Dundas Road at about 11.15 am on Thursday after a delivery van travelling towards Dundas ran a stop sign and collided with a white Toyota Kluger.

The single occupants in both vehicles did not sustain any major injuries according to police.

Dunolly Police Senior Constable David Hards said that the incident reiterated the importance of driving responsibly and following road safety rules.

“While the truck wasn’t speeding it didn’t slow down for the stop sign. It’s really crucial to pay attention to the signs,” he said.

“There [was] a bit of fog around too so that’s one of the factors as well — people also need to drive to the weather and road conditions.
