That was certainly the case for the Maryborough Giants, who claimed a historic first-ever senior premiership in the B grade competition, marking their inaugural season with a 33-30 win.

A stellar performance from Stacey Shepherd in the defensive third helped the Giants score the victory.

In C grade, Natte Bealiba completed an incredible turnaround from last season, culminating in a premiership after finishing 10th in 2023 with a 33-23 win over Trentham.

Amanda Parkinson finished as the best player on the court after a dynamic performance in the goal third for Natte.

Maldon scored their second 17 and under premiership in three seasons, outlasting Natte Bealiba to win 33-22 after the Swans gave the Dons a small fright in the final term.

Dons centre Tiffany Williams completed an incredible personal season with the best on court medallion, adding to her league best and fairest medal.

Natte’s first of three premierships for the day came in the 15 and under competition, scoring a comfortable victory over Harcourt, winning 37-20.

A dominant midcourt performance from Charlotte Liddicoat was the ticket for the Swans, claiming the best on court medal for her efforts.

Carisbrook claimed the 13 and under premiership, denying a fairytale first premiership for the Maryborough Giants which wouldn’t come until later in the afternoon.

The Redbacks led from go to whoa in their 34-21 victory, with a terrific performance from Damika Carroll earning her the best on court medallion.

In the first grand final of the day, it was Newstead who have gone back-to-back, with the Kangaroos scoring 10 goals to six to ensure they would take the victory.

Despite the defeat, a sensational game from Navarre’s Sunday Kongor in defence meant that she would take home the best on court medallion.
