HARCOURT (61) def NAVARRE (24)

Harcourt have roared into the top four, flexing their muscle with a 37-goal victory over Navarre.

The Lions are now riding a five-game winning streak, and were able to move into the top four at Trentham’s expense as a result of their win over the Hoppers, who now find themselves battling to make up ground in the finals race.

Harcourt were able to make the stronger start, doubling the Hoppers on the scoreboard in the opening quarter as they scored 16 goals to eight.

They were then able to add to their lead while starting to take control of the game defensively, adding 13 goals to five to lead 29-13 at half time.

The third quarter was perhaps most pleasing for Harcourt, scoring 14 goals while restricting the Hoppers to just four goals as they took an unassailable 26-goal lead at the final change.

The Lions were then able to ease to victory, scoring 18 goals to seven in the last to win 61-24.

Harcourt were well-served by Cassidy McLean, Carly Chaplin and Chelsey Collinson, with McLean dominating affairs in the goal circle with 49 goals.

For Navarre, Rachel Wood, Olivia Mulcahy and Sarah Milton were named in their best players, with Bek Seeary-Pye scoring 20 goals to lead the way for the Hoppers.

Navarre’s quest to make the finals won’t get any easier next week as they take on top four hopeful Lexton, while Harcourt face the ever-improving Royal Park.
