Hare has signed for Broadbeach in the Queensland AFL (QAFL) competition for next season after spending two years at Peel Thun-der, Fremantle’s AFL affiliate.

Hare broke through for two league games after spending time in the reserves in 2024, with fierce competition from many of Fremantle’s midfielders meaning he had to wait patiently.

When he did get his opportunity, he showed he was not out of place, collecting 33 disposals in his two games and laying 22 tackles.

It was a trait that Hare showed throughout his time at Peel, incredibly laying 43 tackles across his last two games at Peel, including 24 in their round 21 game against East Perth.

Hare now joins a Broadbeach team desperate to move up the QAFL ladder, having finished ninth in 2024.

In recent days, two ex-Mary-borough locals have made big state league moves, with Hare joining Jake Lohmann in moving states — Lohmann joined Werribee after spending a year with Brisbane playing in their VFL team.
