The Maryborough Highland Society will be launching the 2022-23 bowls season tomorrow with an afternoon session, followed by a social gathering in the beer garden, as they look to mark their 100th season of lawn bowls.

The activities during the afternoon will culminate in the presentation of a cheque to a Legacy representative, which is expected to be over $1000.

The Highland Society is preparing to mark the centenary season — which began when the Maryborough Bowling Club and the Highland Society agreed to merge in 1922 — with various activities throughout the next 12 months.

Guests including life members, the president and board members of the society, as well as past and present bowling members will be in attendance.

The Goldfields Pennant competitions for 2022/23 will begin on October 11 with the Midweek Pennant, with Saturday pennant to begin on October 15.
