Navarre’s finals hopes hang by the slimmest of threads following a nine-goal loss to Trentham.
The Hoppers are two games and percentage outside of the top eight with two rounds to go, and although they have a friendlier draw than teams above them, they will also need everything to go their way.
In the meantime, the result all-but locks in fifth place for the Saints, sitting two games clear.
The Saints got the jump, scoring 11 goals to five in the opening term to lead by six goals at the opening break.
Navarre needed a response, but it was not to be, as the Saints continued to edge their way forward, scoring 13 goals to 10 to take a nine-goal lead into the main break.
The Saints again pushed, and were able to ward off any of the Hoppers’ advances, scoring 15 goals to 13 to take a match-winning 11 goal lead into the final quarter.
Navarre were able to win the last quarter, but were unable to make an impression on the Saints’ lead, scoring 11 goals to nine.
Sharna Ford scored 24 goals for the Saints, with Hayley Bourke adding 21.
For Navarre, Darcy Crawford scored 20 goals, while Erin Chisholm added 19.
