Lohmann’s exciting season with the Lions saw him poll 21 of a possible 55 votes, with nine of the 11 judges for the award giving him votes.

Judge Josh Mahoney rated him particularly highly, giving him the maximum five votes, while Glen Jakovich was another judge who rated his season highly, giving him four votes.

Lohmann’s status as a firestarter for the Lions saw him average 11 disposals and a goal per game this season in a Brisbane team that has finished fifth, and are preparing for an elimination final clash with Carlton this weekend.

Among rising stars, Lohmann ranked second for most goals, fourth for tackles, and first for tackles inside 50, showing off his status as an excellent two-way player for the Lions.

The award was won by Geelong’s Oliver Dempsey, who polled 52 votes, while North Melbourne’s George Wardlaw polled 43 votes.

Lohmann won’t be the only district local preparing for finals, with Hawthorn’s former Newstead resident, Jack Ginnivan, also preparing for the club’s elimination final, to be played tonight against the Western Bulldogs.
