LEXTON 19.20 (134) def CAMPBELLS CREEK 5.1 (31)
Lexton scored their fifth win of the season when they defeated Campbells Creek at the Lexton Recreation Reserve on Saturday by a comfortable 103points.
The Tigers jumped out of the blocks to have 13 shots on goal resulting in five majors in the opening term while holding the visitors scoreless.
To Creek’s credit, they restricted the Tigers to just one major in the second term and actually outscored the home team by four points. The Creek players were up and about and showed that they can play some competitive football when they put their minds to it.
But the third quarter the Tigers put their foot down to get out to an unbeatable 63 point margin at three quarter time and went on a rampage on the final quarter, kicking seven goals to one.
Lexton’s best players were Lachlan Pryor, Luke Arvidson, Jordan Phelan, Justin Hobson, Joshua Sargent, and Darren Cook, with Jacob Eyres and Tyler Trickey kicking three goals apiece.
Creek’s best were Luke Bennett, Hadley Bassett, Joel Wootton, Lachlan Hyland, Ryan Johnstone, and John Bartels, who kicked three of the five goals scored by Creek.
