HARCOURT (27) def by LEXTON (44)
The top four of A grade netball has been locked in, with Lexton securing the double chance with a strong 17-goal victory over Harcourt.
The win allows the Tigers to have a better opportunity to re-enact their stunning grand final run from last season, and with form like this, they’ll certainly give themselves a good account again at the pointy end of the season.
Meantime, for Harcourt, they still hold a two-game gap in the race for the top eight, but with Avoca and Natte Bealiba on the horizon, they will need an upset victory to lock in their top eight spot.
A strong start was the key for the Tigers, scoring 12 goals to six in the opening quarter.
A further 12 goals to seven in the second quarter meant that the Tigers were up by 11 goals at the main break.
Harcourt enjoyed their best offensive quarter in the third term, scoring nine goals of their own, but it wasn’t enough to stop Lexton from extending their lead as they added a further 14 goals to make it a 16-goal break at the final change.
The last quarter was a struggle, with the Tigers ensuring they would take every quarter by scoring six goals to five.
Rachel Phelan scored 27 goals for the winners, with Leesa Donhardt adding 17, while for Harcourt, Tayla Gale led the way with 18 goals.
