Lexton have taken a comfortable 31-goal victory over Dunolly at Deledio Reserve to warm up for an elimination final clash with Newstead.

The Tigers were comfortable for most of the day, and started off well in what was a high-scoring opening term, scoring 18 goals to 12 to lead by six goals at the first change. Leesa Donhardt and Kimberley Roberts scored nine goals apiece for Lexton, while Zoe Aldridge scored seven goals and Kate Ashman five for Dunolly.

The introduction of Rachel Phelan into the game for the Tigers allowed them to take complete control, scoring 16 goals to six to lead 34-18 at the main break. Phelan scored 10 goals and Roberts six for the Tigers, while Aldridge scored four goals and Ashman two for Dunolly.

Lexton continued to control the game, and had their best offensive performance for the day when they scored 20 goals to seven to extend the lead to 29 goals at the final change, leading 54-25. Donhardt scored 11 goals and Phelan nine for the Tigers, while Aldridge scored five goals and Ashman two for the Eagles.

Dunolly, to their credit, never gave up, and had a very positive finish when they went goal-for-goal with the Tigers, scoring 11 goals to the Tigers’ 13. Phelan finished the game with eight goals to finish with 27 for the day, while Donhardt scored five times to finish with 25. For Dunolly, Aldridge scored eight times to finish with 24, while Ashman scored three.
