Maryborough has welcomed the newest addition to its business community, with O2 Cafe opening inside the Maryborough IGA complex.

Officially opening last Monday, the cafe has been an idea since IGA reopened its doors in March 2022 and brings a breath of fresh air to the supermarket.

O2 Cafe manager Jane Bond said the business has been seeing an increase of customers with each passing day.

“The building process was a lot for this little space but it’s worked really well to make this part of the building feel like a cafe,” she said.

“I don’t think it was until the curtain came down the night before we opened that I went ‘wow, it really looks like a cafe’ — it’s amazing.

“We’ve been getting some really good feedback, the cafe has been very well received.”

Ms Bond said a majority of the food sold in the cafe is made fresh, with quality coffee available.

“We make all of our sandwiches, wraps, focaccias and toasties fresh and we have our pies and pasties supplied, we also have soup and that sort of thing as well,” she said.

“The brand of our coffee is A+ and it’s been very popular.

“The food we have going at the moment is fairly basic but people are enjoying that and are very happy with that.

“Basic isn’t always a bad thing, I think customers are really enjoying the simplistic options we have at the moment.”

O2 Cafe is open from 7 am for takeaway and 9 am to 4 pm for dine in on weekdays, and 9 am until 2 pm on Saturday.
