There is a new owner spinning the tyres at Tyrepower Maryborough as local Chris Gunn officially takes over at the start of July.

Mr Gunn, who has been involved in the tyre industry for 20 years, believes this is the perfect opportunity to take the next step in his career, something he has been eyeing for some time.

“Owning my own business is something that I have wanted to do for a while and I just thought that the time was right for me and my kids,” he said.

“There are still some nerves about taking over, but also a lot of excitement to get to do everything my own way and take Tyrepower Maryborough to the next level.”

While still finding his way with the prospect of business ownership, Mr Gunn is confident that he will hit the ground running with support from the people around him.

“I have got a business partnership with Jim Parini from Tyrepower Ballarat who is also on the board of Tyrepower, he is a very good businessman and will be a great mentor for me,” he said.

“The partnership will also help maximise the buying power of the business and most importantly improve the experience for our customers.

“We are also going to be a major Toyo dealer which will be a massive boost for the business.”

Mr Gunn said customers can expect a few changes when he officially takes over as he looks to improve the dealership.

“I am hoping to bring a bit more professionalism into the store and have a big focus on customer service,” he said.

“I have always valued trying to keep customers satisfied and it will be something I will continue to pride myself on as I become an owner.

“I am really looking forward to the challenge, we have got a good team and are pretty keen to deliver a great service.”
