Goldfields Family Centre kinder kids got their green thumbs working on Tuesday this week, planting two trees in the centre’s playground with the help of council’s parks and gardens team to mark National Tree Day (July 30).

The national day started in 1996 — since then 26 million trees have been planted — and is a call to action for all Australians to get their hands dirty and give back to the community.
