Maryborough will be the only football and netball team to take to the park this weekend, as they travel to Eaglehawk.

The Magpies’ A reserve netball cohort will have the opportunity to potentially move up as high as second, depending on results around the league, should they defeat the eighth-placed Hawks.

A win would continue a very solid season for the Magpies, who are continuing to rebound after dropping out of A grade, and their younger players have been thriving in the A reserve competition.

The club will also look to continue on their good form in the 17 and under competition, where they currently lie in third position, while B grade and B reserve will seek to win their first game of the season.

In the meantime, the footballers, who have been going through a tough run, will look to put in a competitive performance.

The seniors were able to have one of their better performances of 2023 when they last played the Hawks, while the under 18s will look to get off the mark for the season.

The club’s reserves will not participate again this weekend, with another forfeit, but it is understood that the club are currently targeting the Castlemaine home game on June 22 for a return to the park.

Read the previews for this weekend's games on page 29 of the June 7 edition.
