While the Dons looked comfortable, Campbells Creek, to their credit, kept on fighting hard, and were able to reduce the margin by three goals by the final change. Maldon still led, however, 48-34. Tong added another seven goals for Maldon, with Taft adding five, while for Campbells Creek, Wrigley scored 12 times and Kennedy three.
