A 46-year-old Maryborough man has been charged with over 100 counts of sexual offending against multiple victims, including children.
Samuel Anthony Hunter fronted 113 charges in the Bendigo Magistrates’ Court last Wednesday, according to Australian Community Media (ACM), including alleged offending that occurred while on bail.
According to court documents seen by ACM, Mr Hunter’s alleged offending spans Maryborough and Hopetoun with the man charged with multiple counts of sexual penetration of a child, multiple counts of sexual assault of a child and committing an indictable offence while on bail, as well as rape.
Mr Hunter has been charged with allegedly supplying cannabis to a child in Maryborough across 2021 and 2022 and between January and March last year, trafficking cannabis to a child.
He was arrested and released on bail in March last year and is charged with allegedly sexually assaulting and penetrating a child in Maryborough while on bail.
Mr Hunter is also charged with harassing a witness on April 7 by trying to get them to withdraw their statement.
Mr Hunter is due to appear before the Magistrates’ Court on March 22, while other charges will go to the higher jurisdiction of the County Court on July 3, according to ACM, which stated the accused intends to plead guilty to the higher court charges.
