Munn and Butler mark stellar seasons
The stellar seasons of Olivia Butler and Anika Munn were recognised at the Ballarat Football League Women’s best and fairest count on Friday night, with both players earning selection to the team of the year.
Butler and Munn helped provide Carisbrook with a platform to steadily become more competitive this season, and earned selection based on their efforts throughout the season, with Butler earning a spot on the wing, while Munn scored a spot on the interchange bench.
Munn’s 15 games earned 10 mentions in the best players for the Redbacks as she continued to lead the way from the front in an outstanding manner, with two goals thrown in to lead the way alongside Jade Cameron, Tiani Jardine and Butler atop the goalkicking charts.
Butler’s season saw her named in the best players on nine occasions from her 13 games, while her two goals came in Carisbrook’s memorable 13-point victory over Bacchus Marsh, their sole victory of the season.
