Natte Bealiba enhanced their premiership credentials as a terrific first half saw them take a 60-point victory over Carisbrook at CHS Broadbent Oval.

The Swans took full control over what was, admittedly, a weakened Redbacks lineup, with senior co-coach Luke Treacy making a return to the playing field for the day.

However, it was all the Swans throughout the first half. They were able to kick three goals to one in the opening quarter to lead by 16 points at the first change, before they completely broke the game open in the second term by kicking the only five goals to lead by 45 points at the main break.

The form of the Swans midfield meant that it was hard for Carisbrook to generate opportunities throughout the day, while also being able to get good looks in front of goal, kicking another five goals to two in the third term to open up a 63-point lead at the final change.

Carisbrook had their best passage of the day in the final term, with Ricky Pearson in particular enjoying a terrific cameo for the Redbacks with five goals for the afternoon, kicking four goals to three in the last term to at least win the quarter, but it was always the Swans’ day.

Jai Howell stamped his authority on the afternoon with a stunning best-on-ground performance for the Swans, kicking four goals to lead the way alongside playing coach Trent Mortlock, who also kicked four.

Daniel Vadala continued his good form, while Jake Postle provided influence around the ground as a tall target, finishing with two majors. Aaron Hayes, Will Cameron and Bailey Jacobs were also named in the best on a productive day for the Swans.

For the Redbacks, Todd Bryant continued his good form in his second game for the club, while Adam Hurse was as reliable as ever down back. Dean Chester, Tom Gardam, Darcy Bond and Cooper Tatchell completed the best players for Carisbrook.
