DUNOLLY (28) def by NAVARRE (32)

Navarre took another big step with a second straight victory to start their season, defeating Dunolly by four goals in a low-scoring game.

The Hoppers got off to the better start at Hedges Oval, scoring nine goals to four in the first term. Annabelle Price scored on five occasions, while Mollie Simpson scored four, while for the Eagles, Kate Ashman scored twice, as did Zoe Aldridge.

The scoring opened up a little bit more in the second quarter, with Dunolly reducing the margin by one goal thanks to an 11-10 run. Aldridge scored six times, while Ashman added five, while for Navarre, Simpson added seven and Price three.

The third quarter saw Dunolly make their move as they looked to get back on track, and added seven goals to four to reduce the margin to a solitary goal at the last break, trailing 23-22. Aldridge scored four goals, while Ashman added three, while for Navarre, Darcy Crawford scored two goals, Simpson one and Price one.

Navarre got the game back on their terms in the last quarter, however, and kept their good run going to start the season, with nine goals to six in the last to eventually take victory in what was a dour, low-scoring game.

Simpson scored five goals and Crawford four for Navarre, while Ashman and Aldridge scored three times apiece for Dunolly.

The Hoppers will now look to make it three wins from three when they host Trentham, while Dunolly will look to get their first win of the season when they travel to Harcourt.
