NAVARRE 24.14 (158) def MARYBOROUGH ROVERS 4.3 (27)
Maryborough Rovers were soundly defeated by Navarre by 131 points.
With 10 players backing up from the reserves game, Rovers were never really going to challenge Navarre for the entire game.
In fairness, they did a very good job in the opening term, with Kai Weller kicking their only goal for the quarter, but remained competitive throughout the early stages.
They never gave in despite the majority of the team having played two games, but Navarre was just too strong in all areas.
Josh Fowkes was outstanding in the ruck and Ash and Cody Driscoll both kicked five goals apiece for the home team.
Navarre had a number of key players missing which gave an opportunity for Jacob Martin to play his first senior game for the Hoppers.
Navarre named their best players Brady Tillig, Angus Barham, David Kirtley, Jayden Fowkes, Harry Bigmore and Josh.
Marshall Murray led the way for Rovers, and he was well supported by Jacob Dyer, Liam Radlof, Alex Mahony, Sam Powell, and Kieran Johns, who all gave everything despite the very difficult circumstances.
