Maldon have locked them-selves into the A grade finals after scoring a 15-goal victory over Navarre on Saturday afternoon.
The result is of great relief to the Bombers, who can now focus on tuning up their game against Royal Park next weekend before their finals campaign begins with a cut-throat elimination final.
The Bombers would go on to win every quarter on Saturday. Key to that was a quick 14-goal to eight start which saw them open up a six-goal lead at the first change.
Maldon would shade the Hoppers in a tight second quarter, scoring 12 goals to 11 to increase their lead to seven goals at half time.
It was the second half where the Bombers would make their big move, winning the third quarter 17-13 to increase their lead to 11 goals at the final change, before scoring 12 goals to eight in the last period to finish off the game 55-40 winners.
The best players for both teams were not provided prior to print deadline.
Maldon were well-served in front of goal by Morgan Walker, who scored 33 goals, while Katie Tong scored 22.
For Navarre, Bek Seeary-Pye led the line again for the Hoppers, scoring 29 of their 40 goals.
