Bealiba Primary School will receive a much-needed up-graded heating and cooling system thanks to more than $90,000 in government funding.

Member for Western Victoria Jaala Pulford dropped into the school on Friday last week to announce the $93,000 grant.

The funding was delivered through the State Government’s Minor Capital Works Fund to upgrade the building to three-phase power.

The funding builds on previous works done at the school, which received a $60,000 upgrade through State Government funding in 2017.

The school was eager to upgrade the building from gas to split systems at the time, but couldn’t due to funding and energy constraints.

The new funding will upgrade the building to three-phase power which will allow the school to change from gas heating to reverse cycle heating and cooling.

Labor candidate for Ripon Martha Haylett visited the school with Ms Pulford and said the upgrade will help the local students by providing more modern classrooms.

“The Andrews Labor Government upgraded parts of Bealiba Primary School back in 2017 and now thanks to a further $93,000, the school building will be upgraded to three-phase power,” she said.

“It will improve energy efficiency and help local kids learn in more modern classrooms like they deserve.”
