The Terry Floyd Foundation is continuing its quest to give children the opportunity to live out their dreams, welcoming Hume Bank as a new corporate sponsor.

With several branches in northern Victoria and into New South Wales, Hume Bank joins the foundation’s growing list of sponsors and supporters to support better outcomes for children.

The foundation was established in early 2019 in memory of Terry Floyd, the Maryborough boy who is believed to have been abducted and murdered on June 28, 1975, and as a way to support children to live out their dreams, which Terry was unable to do.

Since its formation, the foundation has implemented a number of initiatives and programs to educate regional children about personal and cyber safety, while also supporting disadvantaged children.

Foundation president and Terry’s younger brother Daryl Floyd said he was thrilled to have Hume Bank supporting the foundation as a sponsor, as both organisation’s values aligned.

“I’m absolutely over the moon about it and we’re rapt at the foundation because to have a corporate sponsor moving forward is really good for us,” he said.

“The Hume Bank also have similar values to the foundation, they’re very community-minded and support organisations within the community and that’s great, it aligns with our values.

“Hume Bank are a large and significant organisation and this sponsorship shows they are recognising the work the foundation is doing and the good of that work we’re doing in the community.

“We are incredibly grateful to all our sponsors and partners. Without supporters like Hume Bank, there is only so much that can be achieved by our volunteers.

“Their support will allow us to support more schools and vulnerable children, supporting us to deliver upon and amplify our purpose.”

Head of community impact & partnerships at Hume Bank, Ben Foley said the organisation was pleased to be able to support children in the region.

“As a customer owned bank, we are proud to support organisations that contribute back to the development and wellbeing of residents and their communities,” he said.

“Keeping children safe both online and offline and ensuring they all have brighter futures is something we are extremely passionate about.

“Daryl and all the volunteers involved with the Terry Floyd Foundation do an exceptional job in their spare time to educate children about personal safety and supporting disadvantaged children to reach their full potential.

“On behalf of our customers, we are delighted to support the Terry Floyd Foundation and applaud them for the role they play in supporting children in our region.”
