A second fatal car crash has rocked the region this week, when a man died at the scene of a collision between a car and truck near Avoca.
Police are currently investigating the crash which occurred at around 6.40 pm on Tuesday along the Sunraysia Highway at Lamplough, five minutes outside of Avoca towards Lexton.
The 46-year-old driver and sole occupant of the car, who was an Avoca resident, died at the scene.
The truck driver, a 51-year-old man from Donald, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The man is the second Avoca resident to die on local roads last month — on August 11, Carisbrook Lions Club member and Avoca resident Ian Hoyland died in a two-vehicle collision on the Ballarat-Maryborough Road at Talbot.
Anyone who witnessed the collision at Lamplough on Tuesday, has dashcam footage or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
