It’s been a good start to 2024 for Maryborough Martial Arts Taekwondo black belts Noor Baharum and Jose Carberry.

Both Baharum and Carberry were recognised by the World Taekwondo Academy in receiving their second degree black belt certificates, with both graded in December to pass skills which involved self-defence, sparring, poomsae and board breaking.

Both Baharum and Carberry have been involved in the discipline in Maryborough for many years, with Carberry starting when he was five.

Baharum and Carberry are now working on training for a third degree black belt, which they are eligible for in 2026.
