TRENTHAM (34) def by CARISBROOK (54)
Carisbrook maintained its hold on third position on the A grade ladder as they proved too strong for Trentham on Saturday.
Knowing the pressure is on from both Harcourt and Lexton, the Redbacks needed a strong result to stay in the top four, and successfully kept the Saints at arms length for the bulk of the afternoon.
A strong 17-goal to seven start was just what the Redbacks needed in order to control proceedings, before they went on and extended the margin to 15 goals at half time, thanks to a 14-goal to nine effort.
The Saints had their strongest quarter in the third, scoring 11 goals, however, this was matched by the Redbacks, allowing them to maintain their 15-goal lead at the final change.
A 12-goal to seven final stanza from the Redbacks eventually saw them successful by 20 goals, ensuring they would still hold on to third at the end of the round.
Amelia Jarvis, Elise Mottram and Andrea Schafer were Carisbrook’s better performers for the afternoon, with Schafer scoring 29 goals.
For Trentham, Sharna Ford, Elysia Rose and Brooke Healy were their better performers, while Zahlia Turton was their best option in the goal circle, scoring 20 goals.
