Registrations open for kindergarten program

Families with children aged three or four years old can now register for kindergarten next year through the Central Goldfields Shire Centralised Kindergarten Registration Program.
Kindergarten is a great way for children and their families to learn, have fun and make new friends. It also helps to set children up for a bright future by helping them learn important skills to take with them throughout their life. Kindergarten is now available from age three for even greater benefits.
All seven kindergartens in the Central Goldfields Shire are participating in the Centralised Kindergarten Registration Program. Families can apply using one form to choose from the following kindergartens:
• A.G. Leech Kindergarten
• Back Creek Kinder (Talbot)
• Californian Gully Kindergarten
• Dunolly Kindergarten
• Goldfields Family Centre
• Roseberry House Early Learning Centre
• T.L. Stone MemorialKindergarten
Go Goldfields manager Carolyn Bartholomeusz said the Centralised Kindergarten Registration Program makes it simple and convenient for families to register their children into local kindergartens.
“Kinder education provides huge benefits for children’s health and wellbeing, social skills and confidence giving them a great foundation for the future,” she said.
“The Central Registration process was refined this year to manage kindergarten placements and ensure fair and transparent process for families and centres.”
All seven kindergartens in the shire want to see the best for all our children. If parents and carers haven’t visited kindergarten open days over the past month, they are encouraged to contact the kindergartens directly to arrange a time.

Key dates for 2023 include:
• First round ‚ Tuesday, May 30 to Friday, July 21
• Second round — Tuesday, August 2
Get one-on-one help from the kinder registrations officer to complete your form and answer your questions at 91 Nolan Street Maryborough.
Ongoing support with kinder registrations will also be available through The Nest for all applications.
The Nest is open Monday to Friday from 10 am to 4 pm and is located opposite the Maryborough Regional Library at 91 Nolan Street, Maryborough.
