Lexton moved into the top four courtesy of a 24-goal victory over Navarre on Saturday.
It was the third quarter for the Tigers that allowed them to get well on top, before eventually running away with the game and overtaking Harcourt for fourth spot.
The Tigers got off to the strong start they needed, scoring 13 goals to five to open up an eight-goal lead at the first change.
In a tightly contested second quarter, both teams were able to score 10 goals. However, Lexton’s fast start enabled them to protect their lead at the main break, leading 23-15.
Lexton’s third quarter proved to be gamebreaking, scoring 14 goals while holding Navarre to just six goals, ensuring they’d take an unassailable 16-goal cushion into the last change, leading 37-21.
The last quarter saw the Tigers finish off the job, bookending the game with 13-5 quarters to ensure they’d win 50-26.
Kaitlin Howarth led the way for Lexton, with Julia Parkin and Kimberley Roberts providing great support. Leesa Donhardt was the Tigers’ best in the goal circle, scoring 26 goals.
