LEXTON (77) def TALBOT (29)

Lexton moved to within percentage of the top four with a strong 48-goal victory over Talbot.

The Tigers went from strength to strength throughout the game as they were able to win all four quarters over the Hawks, moving them up to fifth in the process.

A strong start for the Tigers saw them take a 15-8 lead into quarter-time, before extending their lead to 18 goals by half time after a 20-goal to nine effort.

The third quarter proved to be Lexton’s strongest of the afternoon, scoring 22 goals to four to lead by 36 goals at the final change, and the Tigers were able to go on with the job in the last quarter as they put themselves in touching distance of the top four, scoring 20 goals to eight to run out 77-29 victors.

For the Tigers, Julia Parkin, Rachel Phelan and Kimberley Roberts were their strongest performers, with Phelan scoring 45 goals and Roberts 32.

Tina Wardlaw and Elise Decaria performed strongly for the Hawks.

Lexton now look ahead to a trip to Navarre this week, while Talbot face a tough assignment in ladder-leading Avoca.
