Natte Bealiba continue to maintain the rage in their quest to hold on to a top two spot, defeating Harcourt by 47 goals at CHS Broadbent Oval on Saturday.
The Swans were dominant right from the outset as they sought to ensure that Harcourt weren’t a factor, and a 20-goal to five opening term was just the tonic. Emma Ryan scored all 20 goals for the Swans, while for the Lions, Gemma Papadimos scored four goals and Tegan McKay one.
Harcourt, to their credit, played better in the second term, and started to get the goals flowing, but it was still Natte who won the quarter, scoring 17 goals to 11 to lead 37-16 at the main change. Ryan scored 15 goals and Polly Douglas two for the Swans, while for Harcourt, McKay scored six times and Papadimos five.
Natte continued to be relentless in the third term, and the game went in a similar pattern to the opening quarter, with the Swans scoring 20 goals to four to see them lead 57-20 at the last change. Ryan added 17 goals, while Douglas scored three for the Swans, and for Harcourt, McKay scored three times and Papadimos one.
The Swans eased their way to victory, scoring 17 goals to seven to finish well. Ryan scored all the Swans’ goals to finish with 69 for the afternoon, while for the Lions, Papadimos scored four times to finish with 14, while McKay scored three times.
The Swans now travel to Navarre for a local derby, while Harcourt face another tough challenge in the Maryborough Giants.
