CAMPBELLS CREEK 6.6 (42) def by TALBOT 25.14 (164)

An 11-goal opening quarter helped Talbot to defeat Campbells Creek by a massive 122 points at Campbells Creek Recreation Reserve on Saturday.

Despite the Hawks scoring at such an impressive rate, the Creekers also managed to score two goals in the opening term and then restricted the Hawks to just five goals in the second term.

The third quarter was a spirited contest and the Hawks only outscored the home team by one goal in this quarter which lifted the mood of the home team’s supporter base.

But Talbot managed to run out the game better than Creek to win in very comfortable fashion.

Jude McGuire had the ball on a string for Talbot as he continues to rack up the best player awards, and Adam Scott has found some form again, kicking another five goal haul which was his third time kicking five goals in a game for the season.

Others to play well for the Hawks were Jayson Atkins, Rhys Egan, Sean Robinson and Josh Mercer in a strong team effort.

Joel Wootton was the main avenue to goal for the Creekers with the forward kicking four of the six goals scored for the home team.

Mitch Stevens, Justin Allison, Joel Johnson and Hadley Bassett were named amongst the best players, as was James Martinovic and Jack Carroll.
