Lexton put together an efficient performance after quarter time to defeat Harcourt by 36 goals at Lexton Reserve.
The Tigers were made to work for it in the opening quarter, however, with Harcourt proving they were up for the fight early on, with both teams scoring 13 goals apiece. Rachel Phelan scored eight goals and Leesa Donhardt six for Lexton, while for Harcourt, Tegan McKay scored seven times and Jess Chaplin six times.
It was the second term, however, where Lexton cleared away and showed how much of an offensive powerhouse they can be at their best, scoring 20 goals to six to lead 33-19 at the break. Donhardt scored 16 goals and Kimberley Roberts four goals for the Tigers, while McKay and Chaplin scored three goals apiece for the Lions.
Lexton continued their dominance in the third quarter, scoring 16 goals to five to increase their lead to 25 goals at the final change, 49-24. Phelan scored 14 goals and Roberts twice for Lexton, while McKay scored three times and Chaplin twice for Harcourt.
The Tigers continued on their merry way in the final term, scoring 19 goals to eight to finish strongly. Phelan finished with 12 goals for the term for a total of 34 for the day, while Donhardt scored seven goals to finish with 28 for Lexton. For Harcourt, Chaplin scored five goals to finish with 16, while McKay scored on three occasions to likewise finish with 16.
Lexton will now focus on a matchup with Dunolly to finish their home-and-away campaign, while Harcourt will finish off their season with a matchup against Natte Bealiba.
