A come-from-behind victory has allowed Trentham to keep their season alive, following a four-goal victory over Harcourt at Harcourt.

There was not much separating the two teams for the bulk of the afternoon, as evidenced by the first quarter, with the Saints scoring nine goals and the Lions eight to leave Trentham leading by one at the first change. Jacqui Bell scored five times and Zahlia Turton four for the Saints, while for the Lions, Jess Chaplin scored five times and Tegan McKay three.

The second quarter saw scoring increase, yet the margin remained unchanged thanks to a goal-for-goal term which saw both teams score 11 goals apiece, with Trentham leading 20-19 at the main break. Bell scored seven times and Tarnee Hammond four for the Saints, while for the Lions, McKay scored six times and Chaplin five.

Harcourt made their move in the third term as they sought their third win of the season, scoring 14 goals to 10 to open up a three-goal lead at the final change. McKay and Chaplin scored seven times apiece for the Lions, while for Trentham, Hammond scored eight times and Bell twice.

With their season very much on the line, it was the Saints who responded right when they needed it the most, scoring 16 goals to nine in the final term to ensure they would take a four-goal victory, and keep themselves one game behind Newstead and Talbot in ninth position.

Hammond scored 11 goals to finish with 23 for the day, while Bell scored five goals to finish with 19. For the Lions, McKay scored six goals to finish with 22, while Chaplin finished with 20 after scoring three times.

The Saints will now need to win against Carisbrook to keep their hopes alive, while Harcourt will travel to Lexton for their final away trip of the season.
