All games across A grade and A reserve were called off at 10 am on Saturday morning, while similarly, Maryborough and Colts Phelans’ under 16 games in the Castlemaine District Cricket Association were called off on Saturday morning.

Games in A grade between Laanecoorie Dunolly and Colts Phelans, and Carisbrook and Clunes, were called off.

It means this weekend will see the final week of one-day matches, with Laanecoorie Dunolly safe in a grand final spot as they travel to Clunes.

The other game will be a winner-take-all decider for their opponents, with Colts Phelans hosting Beaufort at Hedges Oval.

The decider is set to be held on Sunday at Beaufort’s Goldfields Reserve.

A reserve will continue, with just two rounds remaining in the year, with Carisbrook hosting Laane, Talbot facing Clunes, Maryborough and MKM meeting in a local derby, and Beaufort hosting Colts.

Meantime, while cricket was called off on Saturday, lawn bowls managed to get a number of games underway.

Division one saw games between Talbot and Avoca, and the Highland derby between Tartan and White, both played, while Dunolly Blue’s game against Maryborough Golf Blue was washed out.

Division two was completely washed out, despite Highland’s game against Dunolly Gold and Carisbrook’s game against Newstead Blue getting a start on Saturday.

Carisbrook’s rinks were washed out nearing the halfway point of the match, and coupled with washouts in games between Dunolly Green and Newstead White, Maryborough Golf and Avoca and Bridgewater and Talbot, it meant the round was null and void.
