Maryborough local Jake Gavriliadis had an outstanding campaign at the Victorian Track and Field Championships last weekend, picking up a silver and bronze medal.
The young gun was able to achieve the results while also managing a back injury for the last four months.
In the shotput five kg category, a throw of 14.28 m was enough for Gavriliadis to claim silver, while the discus 1.5 kg category saw him claim bronze with a throw of 44.82 m.
Gavriliadis has qualified for the national championships as a result, but has decided against going to rest from his injuries.
